With the initial construction of the Submerged Gravel Wetland complete, the Oxford Crossing site is now undergoing adaptive management, such as drainage modifications, reseeding and vegetation planting. Crews will be mobilizing construction equipment, including excavators and dump trucks, to complete site enhancements and maintenance over the next several weeks.

What to Expect
Construction is expected to begin the week of 10/6/2025. Depending on the weather, construction is expected to last approximately two to three weeks. Construction hours are limited to weekdays, 7 a.m.–5 p.m.
Upcoming Work
Looking ahead, crews will:
- Reseed bare areas and replant native vegetation.
- Construct enhanced drainage components.
- Deliver and place materials such as topsoil and stone using dump trucks.
- Access the site via the established Connecticut Avenue entry point.
Site Maintenance
- Erosion and sediment controls remain in place and are actively maintained.
- Safety of vehicles, pedestrians, and workers will continue to be a top priority during this adaptive management period.
Connecticut Avenue Sidewalk Closure
The sidewalk on the west side of Connecticut Avenue will be temporarily closed.
- Pedestrian detour signs will direct people to use crosswalks at Bel Pre Road and S. Leisure World Boulevard.
- Traffic control devices, including partial lane closures in the southbound right turn lane onto Bel Pre Road, will be managed daily to maintain safe traffic flow.
